Trinity is part of Salem Congregation, a group of twelve churches that arose out of the original Salem settlement.\u00a0 These churches share the Salem Cemetery, often called “God’s Acre,” and cooperate in a number of ministries.<\/p>\n

Salem Congregation is a non-profit religious and charitable, incorporated, organization representing\u00a0twelve Moravian churches in the City of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, that together serve their church members, the communities where the churches are located, and the larger purposes of all Moravian churches within the United States and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The group conducts worship services on special days; sponsors a Moravian band for church and community events; operates a central, historic graveyard for burial of church members; receives gifts and bequests of all types of real and personal property \u2013 to manage, maintain or dispose of \u2013 and uses these resources to support church programs. The Congregation is governed by Boards elected by the member churches: the Elders for spiritual matters and the Trustees for financial and business decisions.<\/p>\n

The present-day Salem Congregation organization has evolved over many years. It was first created to manage the settlement and life of the town of Salem in the colonial period of the United States. It began to operate in April, 1772, under the name Congregation Council and has operated continuously since that time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
