DR. CRISTY LYNN BROWN<\/h3>\t\t\t

\"\"<\/a><\/strong>MEZZO-SOPRANO<\/strong><\/p>\n

American mezzo-soprano Dr. Cristy Lynn Brown has had an extensive singing career on both the opera and concert stage.\u00a0 Her diverse operatic repertoire spans from the dramatic to the comic. Dr. Brown has appeared in concert, and her performances of works such as the Verdi Requiem<\/em>, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy\u2019s Elijah<\/em>, and Handel\u2019s Messiah<\/em> have become well known throughout the United States. She has performed throughout North Carolina singing with most of the major Symphony Orchestras and Choral Societies.<\/p>\n

She received her BM in Vocal Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as well as an Artist Diploma. Dr. Brown earned her MM and DMA in Vocal Performance at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and in 2019 she was inducted into the prestigious Pi Kappa Lambda music honors society.<\/p>\n

Dr. Brown\u2019s teaching career includes Indiana University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she was the director of the summer vocal workshop, University of North Carolina Greensboro, High Point University, and Salem College where she also served two years as the Associate Director of the School of Music. Dr. Brown is sought after for her master classes and vocal workshops, and from 2018 to 2021 she gave workshops and master classes for the prestigious Royal School of Church Music- Carolina Course held at Duke University and the RSCM National Virtual Conference. Being a lifelong church soloist and section leader, she has now turned her focus on being a music director. She was the vocal coach for Centenary United Methodist Church, music director at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and is now music director at Trinity Moravian Church in Winston Salem, NC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>
