Traditional Check
The most traditional way to make a donation is by check. Here are several things to remember:
- If you are a member, be sure to write your envelope number on the check in the MEMO line.
- If you want the check to go to a specific project (Building Fund or Debt Jubilee) please write that in the MEMO line. If not designated, it will go in the General Fund.
The best way to deliver your check is in person, during worship, in the offering plate!
Otherwise, mail your check to:

Automatic Recurring Giving from Your Bank
There are several ways to set up an automatic donation for the Church. You can set up a recurring credit card payment (above) or you can set up a regular donation directly from you bank account.
-
- Log In: Access your bank's online portal or mobile banking app.
- Navigate to Payments: Look for menu options labeled "Bill Pay," "Transfer Money," or "Pay & Transfer."
- Add a Payee: Input the recipient's information.
- For large companies or established organizations, you can often search for them by name.
- For smaller entities or individuals, you will manually enter their official name, routing number, and account number. Contact office@trinitymoravian.org for this info.
- Schedule the Frequency: Select "Recurring" or "Automatic Payment." Set your start date, frequency (e.g., monthly, bi-weekly), and end date (or set it to "Until Canceled").
- Verify and Confirm: Review the details carefully to prevent transfer failures and authorize the recurring schedule.
Tax-Free Giving From Your IRA
Those with an IRA must make Required Minimum Withdrawals (RMD) after age 73. These are typically taxed. However, if a donation is made to a qualified nonprofit, the RMD can go directly to the Church and not be taxed. In many cases this provides as signifcant tax advantage to the donor if done properly.
- Age Requirement: You must be 70½ or older at the time the distribution is made (even though RMDs generally start at age 73).
- Contribution Limit: You can donate up to $111,000 per person per year. Married couples filing jointly can each contribute up to $111,000 from their own IRAs (totaling up to $222,000).
- Eligible Accounts: Traditional IRAs, inherited IRAs (if you are 70½ or older), and inactive SEP or SIMPLE IRAs. (QCDs cannot be made directly from active workplace plans like 401(k) or 403(b) accounts).
- Direct Transfer: The IRA custodian must send the funds directly to the qualified 501(c)(3) charity. If the money touches your personal bank account first, it loses its tax-free status and becomes a standard taxable withdrawal.
- RMD Satisfaction: A QCD counts toward fulfilling all or part of your annual RMD. If your QCD is less than your total RMD, you must still withdraw and pay taxes on the remaining RMD amount.
